Breakout Session 1
Activity: Tell us about your hometown and why you decided to attend UConn.
Breakout Sessions 2, 3 and 4
Activity: Each person will select one of the sentences below to read aloud and complete. If everyone has had a chance to complete a sentence you can move to a second sentence, time permitting. Do complete different sentences in each breakout session.

Note: Department representatives in these sessions should go last to ensure each student and alumnus has shared.

HuskyCT org → we’ll keep information and materials for students to access during their time at UConn.
Current students: Go to “organizations” in HuskyCT. Look for “Students of Color Mentorship Program” (org-1616). If you do not see the organization, reach out to patrick.k.russell@uconn.edu and he’ll make sure you’re added to the group.
Mentors and Alumni: You do not need to join HuskyCT but are welcome to if you’d like. To join, you’ll need to reach out to techsupport.uconn.edu to reactivate your NetID number. When activated, reach out to patrick.k.russell@uconn.edu and he’ll make sure you’re added to the group.
Husky Mentor Network [First Hand] → Participants should expect an email in the next few days to create an account. This is where mentees can make appointments with mentors/alumni. Once set up, students can begin making informational interviewing appointments. These do not have to be limited to someone from your major, as you are practicing your skills and getting feedback. As this is another opportunity to interact with mentors, you are not limited in the number of practice sessions you can have.
